PM Oli Emphasizes Transparency and Youth Empowerment on National Democracy Day

Kathmandu: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has stated that the government is committed to eliminating inequality, poverty, and corruption while making democracy more transparent and accountable. Speaking at a function organized at The Army Pavilion, Tundikhel, on the occasion of National Democracy Day-2081, he highlighted the government's vision for prosperity and youth empowerment.

PM Oli stressed that over the past 75 years, Nepal has transitioned from poverty to prosperity, from a developing to a developed nation, and from inequality to equality through democratic struggles. He noted that democracy serves as the foundation for Nepal’s graduation from least developed country status by 2026 and plays a crucial role in achieving sustainable development goals by 2030.

Reflecting on Nepal’s history, PM Oli paid tribute to the martyrs of the democratic struggle and emphasized that 7th Falgun marked a turning point in Nepal’s governance, shifting from autocratic rule to a democratic system. He reminded the younger generation of the hardships faced during oppressive regimes, contrasting democracy’s achievements in education, healthcare, infrastructure, and social justice.

The Prime Minister reiterated that the government is actively working to empower the youth through education, employment, and entrepreneurship opportunities. He also emphasized the importance of digital transformation in making government services more transparent and efficient. He urged all citizens to unite in realizing the national aspiration of "Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali."

PM Oli concluded by reaffirming his commitment to good governance, development, and prosperity, calling upon all Nepalese to honor the sacrifices of past generations by contributing to the nation’s progress.
